Cara&Co Launched Its First “Under Your Feet” Exhibition
«Look closer:
sometimes beauty is right under your feet…”
June 10, Cara&Co Concept Store supported by the Australian Embassy in Moscow launched its first “Under Your Feet” underfloor photography exhibition. This debut expo displays works by an Australian-based photographer Eleanor Wilks. The artist captures landscape around her and portrays not only the mood and feelings but even climate conditions, like wind blowing or temperature rising. The exhibition comprises amazing photographs of stones taken in the Northern Territories, Australia. At a glance, pictures may seem “Photoshopped” but in fact this is pure photography without any cropping or alternation. Bright splashes of colour in these pictures, blots and blurs suggesting of almond pastries are very expressive and look just like abstract prints on fashionable clothes …and some of them imply a distinct sex appeal. Each photograph is perfectly harmonic yet very smart and ambiguous which makes the concept similar to Cara&Co philosophy: we perceive the world around as truly complex and multifaceted.
Cara&Co “underfloor” exhibition space is totally unique: pictures are displayed right under you feet – in glass cases mounted into the floor you walk upon. Thus, one could enjoy photography while sipping espresso or Australian wine – the exhibition is launched at Cara&Coffee, first ever café inside “Winzavod” Art Centre.
Exhibitions here will be thematic and changing once in a month.
Cara&Coffee was officially launched on the same day, together with our photography display. Not only it’s famous for being the first café in “Winzavod” for visitors to have a nice chat over coffee and relax after having toured many of local exhibitions - more than that, Cara&Coffee is the first-ever venue in Moscow (!) that serves iconic New-York bagels.
